Jade Jackson

Journalist and refugee

Jade Jackson is in her late forties and was born in east Africa. She studied journalism and went on to be a sports reporter. After her husband, sister and parents were killed during a period of internal conflict, she escaped military captivity and sought refuge in England in 2001. Her children had been taken and are still missing in her home country. Jade is a member of the creative writing group Write to Life, hosted by the charity Freedom from Torture.
