What the Future CEOs Look Like

There are thousands, if not millions, of theories and ideas about leadership and what a good leader, whom in business referred as CEO, would look like.

There are thousands, if not millions, of theories and ideas about leadership and what a good leader, whom in business referred as CEO, would look like.

Good leaders have something special about them and that is not their leadership skills; but how they make others feel about themselves. Simply put, leadership, the job of every CEO, is all about personality and attitude.

Great leaders and great CEOs are great followers and great doers; people who are capable of bringing people together and include them in every aspect of decision making process and making things happen. Successful CEOs are those who encourage inclusion and lead by example.

Some of today's CEOs may wish to review their leadership style, especially if they are young, as the future vacancies for CEO jobs require additional set of qualities and attributes as well as some of the characteristics defined in traditional leadership books. Needless to say many books and even leadership theorists have confused the definition of a leader with a typical human being in a role called boss. I developed a little model, called PLC, recently and shared on Jelly, where I was overwhelmed by the amount of positive and great feedback I received; hence I decided to share it with the rest of the world too.

PLC stands for:

- Plan

- Learn

- Care

This simply defines the attributes of an effective and inspiring CEO. If CEOs keep PLC in mind at all times, they will ensure business profitability and brand sustainability; which can also lead to attraction and retention of top talents.
