“For the past few years, my boyfriend and I have looked enviously at people in parks chilling on those brightly-coloured inflatable sofas. So, I decided to invest in one for ourselves. We live opposite a busy common in south London which doubles up as our back garden (we don’t have our own), and often head over to have dinner if the weather is nice. This will be the perfect addition to our impromptu picnics. Also, since buying it, I’ve learned it’s waterproof and doubles up as a lilo. Result.”

“Our coffee machine may not be a fancy chrome espresso one that looks fabulous, but it does make a perfect Americano with the kind of crema on top that you don’t get from cafetiere coffee. But I couldn’t live with the waste from the coffee pods we were throwing away each week, so sadly it lay dormant and at risk of expulsion from our kitchen. That is, until a friend told me we could buy reusable pods! Now, I buy nice coffee, fill them up, and stick them in the machine. One of those rare perfect solutions.”

“My sister and I were at a wine tour on bank holiday weekend when we saw a girl wearing this jumpsuit – and we both fell in love with it. Granted, it’s not the best for hot weather, but it’ll be autumn in no time and this outfit will be perfect with a pair of chunky boots.

“It’s my sister’s birthday coming up in a few weeks so I bought it for her as a surprise. I love the Oliver Bonas-vibe of it, and she bought me some similar face doodle earrings for my birthday so we seem to have a theme going on.”

“Author Miriam Akhtar is a positive psychologist whose happiness methods are founded in science. Like most people, I want to be happy in my life and everything in this book makes sense to me. The size of the book makes it easily digestible and it’s really pretty so I might buy more for gifts for people I care about.”

“Against my better judgement, I came home from my holiday to Japan with a Nintendo Switch. I justified it by the much cheaper price over there and the crucial fact my wife and I could play it on the many bullet trains we were taking around the country – and even throughout our long journey home. Worth it already.”

“With a wedding abroad inching ever-closer and a dwindling bank account, I ventured to Zara (my failsafe store) and splashed the cash on this snazzy number. The silky fabric didn’t crease when crammed into my suitcase and it kept me nice and cool in the Sicilian heat. I’m a big fan of the cowl neck – I personally think it makes it look a bit more spenny than £30 – and there is a lot of give in the fabric around the middle, which is great if you’re planning on punishing the wedding buffet.”

“I’m saving up for a big holiday so resisted buying a new outfit for a friend’s wedding earlier this month. I did, however, treat myself to this £16 necklace on a lunch break to give an old jumpsuit a new lease of life. The shade of blue was an exact match, and I know I’ll wear it on my travels, too.”
