How I'm Celebrating the Very Special Diamond Jubilee

The Diamond Jubilee will see London transformed into a four day carnival and I am lucky enough to be in the midst of it. As a reporter for the US network NBC News I will be working alongside theshow anchor Matt Lauer at the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace - but the highlight will be the river pageant on Sunday 3 June.

The Diamond Jubilee will see London transformed into a four day carnival and I am lucky enough to be in the midst of it. As a reporter for the US network NBC News I will be working alongside the Today show anchor Matt Lauer at the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace - but the highlight will be the river pageant on Sunday 3 June.

I will be helming one of the 1000 boats in the flotilla as it works its way down the Thames. I will be in a three man skiff with Amazon kayaker Helen Skelton, ocean rower Olly Hicks and Oxford University cox, Zoe de Toledo who appeared in The Social Network and was in the midst of an eventful Oxford/Cambridge boat race earlier this year.

We have been dressed by Ralph Lauren and have designed a special Union flag to mark the occasion. There is going to be something incredibly special about the pageant as we escort the Queen, and the rest of the Royal party down the river.

The jubilee gives us the excuse to be unashamedly patriotic and in this Olympic year, there is a wave of euphoria enveloping the country and I feel extraordinarily lucky to be in the midst of it.

As the official brand ambassador of Typhoo, my family and I will be going to our community tea party in Notting Hill Gate, where we will sip tea and champagne and toast the Queen.
