Police investigating a missing person in Hampstead have recovered a body in the famous swimming pond.
Officers were called on Saturday afternoon after a bundle of men’s clothing was found on the bank of the body of water at Hampstead Heath.
A search of the surface of the pond and nearby area was conducted, without success.
A man aged in his mid-50s from the Hampstead area was subsequently identified as missing.
On Monday, a body was found in the pond by officers from the Marine Support Unit. The death is currently being treated as unexplained.

The family of the missing man have been informed of the discovery and enquiries continue.
