Westlife's Brian Mcfadden Has Some Very Strong Thoughts About The Tory Leadership Contest, And We're Confused

As more Tories enter the race to be the next PM, it’s good to see voices across the world of politics and culture engaging with the leadership battle. Like many people in the UK, former Westlife member Brian McFadden has extremely strong opinions on it – we’re just trying to work out exactly what they are.

The singer wrote: ”The fact that borris, farage and Jeremy are the front runners to be prime minister is scary! Britain is fucked!!! Literally fucked!

“Incredible how many brits jump on the anti trump bandwagon. He’s exactly what Britain needs! A Britain first at all costs attitude is essential”

Now let’s break this down.

“The fact that borris (sic), farage (sic) and Jeremy are the front runners to be prime minister is scary! Britain is fucked!!! Literally fucked!”

The first part of the tweet seems straightforward enough at first glance, Mcfadden obviously isn’t a fan of Boris Johnson, Nigel Farage or Jeremy Corbyn.

But only one of these men, Johnson, is currently frontrunner to be PM on account of him being the only person in the leadership race to replace Theresa May. Of course, a general election could put Corbyn in No.10, but the likelihood of Nigel Farage ever getting the top job is slim, given he has never managed to get elected as an MP, despite seven attempts.

As for “Britain is fucked!!!”, well that’s a matter of perspective but we suspect one that a lot of people might agree with, wherever they stand on the political spectrum.

“Incredible how many brits jump on the anti trump bandwagon. He’s exactly what Britain needs! A Britain first at all costs attitude is essential”

McFadden is Irish, but like many EU citizens he may well call the UK home. Indeed, a quick search suggests he was last reported to be living in Rochdale, Lancashire.

And as for Donald Trump, a 5-minute twitter search suggests McFadden has changed his mind a few times on the US president.

Our extensive analysis of McFadden’s latest tweet has concluded that he appears to quite like Donald Trump and thinks a charismatic and “Britain first” PM is exactly what we need – but don’t Johnson and Farage tick these boxes?

In summary, we are confused, so it’s over to the Twitterati for some opinions.

So yeah, what does Westlife’s Brian McFadden think? We have no idea. But if you want to boycott Westlife over his Trump supporting antics, rest assured he left in 2004, so anything they released after that can stay on your party playlists.
