Criminal: Netflix's New Drama Could Be Just The Show For Line Of Duty Fans

It also boasts the likes of David Tennant, Katherine Kelly and Rochenda Sandall among its cast.

Line Of Duty fans listen up – there’s a new Netflix drama coming that might just fill the AC-12-shaped gap in your lives.

The streaming service has announced details of a brand new police procedural series that sounds like it has the potential to be as just as good as Jed Mercurio’s hit show.

Criminal is set to capitalise on one of the popularity of Line Of Duty’s interrogation scenes, setting each episode exclusively within the confines of a police interview suite.

Line Of Duty has become famed for its interrogation scenes

And as with those iconic Line Of Duty scenes, the drama will focus on the intense mental conflict between detectives and the suspects they are investigating.

What’s more, it even boasts two of the stars of Line Of Duty in its cast, in the form of Rochenda Sandall and Lee Ingleby

Rochenda Sandall played Lisa McQueen in Line Of Duty

Fans will remember Rochenda as organised crime group member Lisa McQueen in the most recent series, while Lee played the husband of DCI Roz Huntley in series four.

The rest of the cast is also a who’s who in British acting with David Tennant (Doctor Who, Broadchurch) Katherine Kelly (Cheat, Mr Selfridge), Nicholas Pinnock (Marcella), Hayley Atwell (Avengers) and Mark Stanley (Game Of Thrones) among the stars, alongside Youssef Kerkour, and Clare-Hope Ashitey and Shubham Saraf.

The hugely ambitious series comprises 12 different stories set in four different countries (France, Spain, Germany and the UK), with each country getting three of their own episodes in their local language.

All 12 episodes will be available to stream on Netflix this autumn.
