This week the Brexit chaos has reached new heights (even though we didn’t think that was possible) and it’s sent us all a bit hysterical. On Wednesday, the hashtag #ruinafilmbyaddingupyourbum was a top UK trend and one person noted that this has everything to do with the fact the country is “on the verge of collapse”. Excellent.

1. Dogs Captured In Panoramic Mode.
There are simply no words to describe how much I laugh-cried when I scrolled along Twitter and came across this. From the lesser spotted doggerpillar (papped on a beach, no less) to the two-legged toddler dog (bottom right), this entire thread is what the internet – and specifically, Britain – needs right now.

2. Care Home Hires ‘Canine Relations Manager’.
They say every dog has its day – and for Ryo the Border Collie (read: mega babe), that day has come. A Suffolk care home hired Ryo as a canine relations manager – and apparently he’s the third doggo to gain that title in the UK.
Based at Care UK’s Prince George House in Ipswich, Ryo oversees ‘canine relations’ at the home which basically means he remains on hand (/paw) for residents to fuss, walk or simply spend time with. What a great guy.
3. Baby Giraffe Runs Free.
A two-week-old giraffe calf has stepped outside for the first time at Chester Zoo. Six-foot-tall newcomer Mburo ventured out with mum Dagmar and dad Meru. He is a Rothschild’s giraffe, of which fewer than 2,650 remain in the wild. Welcome to the world, little one.
4. Dog Versus Gate.
Time for another Border Collie. Jack was determined not to be parted from a rather large stick which he’d found on his walk, however that was easier said than done. His owner waited and filmed while Jack repeatedly tried to get the stick through small gaps on either side of a gate, and failed.
He does eventually succeed, but it takes time (and a little intervention). 10/10 for effort, chap.
5. Brave Doggos To Receive ‘Animal OBE’
Saving the most important until last. Police dogs who supported emergency services during the London terror attacks at Westminster Bridge, London Bridge and Borough Market are to be honoured for their heroic actions by leading vet charity PDSA.
Seven dogs from the Metropolitan (Met) Police and British Transport Police (BTP) will be awarded the PDSA Order of Merit – the animal equivalent of the OBE – at a ceremony later this year.
They 100% deserve all of the belly rubs.
