Post EU Referendum Racism Documented Online And It's Really Scary

There are no words...

Various social media accounts have begun documenting racism after Brexit at #PostRefRacism.

And it's a bit terrifying...

But first off, and very importantly, here's how you can report it.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has asked Scotland Yard to be “extra vigilant” after a number of incidents were reported in the capital and around Britain, the Press Association reported.

“So it’s really important we stand guard against any rise in hate crimes or abuse by those who might use last week’s referendum as cover to seek to divide us.

“I’ve asked our police to be extra vigilant for any rise in cases of hate crime, and I’m calling on all Londoners to pull together and rally behind this great city.”

Baroness Warsi has warned: "I've spent most of the weekend talking to organisations, individuals and activists who work in the area of race hate crime, who monitor hate crime, and they have shown some really disturbing early results from people being stopped in the street and saying look, we voted Leave, it's time for you to leave.

"And they are saying this to individuals and families who have been here for three, four, five generations. The atmosphere on the street is not good.

"This is what I said before the campaign - that long after the political bus moves on we leave problems on our street."

The result of the EU referendum has seen an increase in anti-immigration rhetoric.

One deluded gent was filmed by Channel 4 News admitting he voted leave “to stop Muslims coming into the EU”.

He said: “It’s all about immigration. It’s not about trade or Europe or anything like that, it’s all about immigration.

“It’s to stop Muslims coming into this country. Simple as that.”
