Gemma Collins has offered her services to Theresa May, suggesting she could help the PM through her current difficulties.

On Monday morning, Gemma was a guest presenter on Good Morning Britain to discuss the day’s showbiz news in Richard Arnold’s absence, but couldn’t resist sharing her thoughts on Brexit while she was there.

“Theresa needs to make a decision,” Gemma said, revealing in the process she’s on first-name basis with the prime minister. “I voted out [and would do it again]. Theresa needs to lead our nation.

“Take a deep breath, Theresa May, make a deal and let’s move forward.”

Suggesting May needs to brush up on her leadership skills, the former Dancing On Ice star then offered: “If you need some help hun, I am free for an hour after the show. She is going to get some stick whatever she does.

“You have got to have some gumption if you are leading the country. She just needs to lead our country and go for it.”

Gemma went on to admit that she was disappointed the UK didn’t leave the EU last week as had previously been thought (“for me, it’s boring, next…”), she then revealed her thoughts on the subject of knife crime.

“Theresa, if you are watching this, ‘Good morning, darling, we need to get the police back on the streets, helping everybody out’,” Gemma said. “It would be nice to see a policeman patrolling the streets and be able to go up to him and talk to him. We haven’t got that anymore.”

This isn’t Gemma’s first foray into political discourse, previously making headlines when she crossed paths with Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn last year.

He’s not just for the rich getting rich. He wants to make everything equal,” she gushed at the time. “He’s got values on education, and he says every child should learn a musical instrument - that’s about giving children something to do, so they’re not hanging around on the streets.

“At his age now - I’m not saying he’s old, old - the fact that he’s out there riding a bicycle and he doesn’t have a car... a lot of people say they’ve got beliefs. But he actually backs what he says.”

She concluded: “Do you know why I love Jeremy? He wants to end hospital car parking charges. I’m not being funny, but someone’s died - a member of your family - and you’ve gotta put three quid in the meter?

“It’s just not the time. Your mum has a heart attack, yet you’ve got to rustle around in your bag for £5? It’s not the one.”

Good Morning Britain airs every weekday from 6am on ITV.
