We don’t get to see Gwyneth Paltrow on screen much these days, since she took the decision to step back from acting in 2017 to focus on her Goop lifestyle brand.

And the 48-year-old star, who won an Oscar at the age of 26 for her role in Shakespeare In Love, has a very specific requirement if she’s going to consider getting back in front of the camera.

Speaking to Naomi Campbell for her No Filter web series, Gwynnie was delightfully unfiltered when she was asked what it would take to get her back on screen.

“Someone said ‘what is it going to take to get you acting again?’ And I said I have to be fucking the writer,” Gwyneth told the supermodel.

After marrying TV producer Brad Falchuk in 2018 Gwynnie appeared in the Netflix drama The Politician the following year, a show her husband co-created.

Gwyneth added: “If my husband writes something and he wants me to do it, then I’ll do it. I could never say never.”

The mum-of-two said she would like to return to the stage in the future as she “loved doing theatre” but admitted she was never comfortable being in front of the camera or being famous, which led to her reassessing her career as she got older.

“I think a lot of that also comes from the fact that I – and this is something that I think I realised later in life – actually haven’t been that comfortable being a public person or being in front of the camera even though I’ve done it for so long,” she said.

“There’s a part of me that really feels shy and doesn’t feel like I’m naturally an extrovert.

“I started doing it so young … I went for a long time before I asked myself, ‘like, do I like this job? Am I comfortable doing this? Do I want to be an actor?’”

Last year, Gwyneth revealed that when it comes to kissing on screen, the fantasy is usually way better than reality.

While Gwyneth remained tight-lipped about who her best on-screen kiss was with, she did reveal that she isn’t in a hurry to have a repeat performance with her Iron Man co-star, Robert Downey Jr.

“With Robert, like, when I kissed him, I was like, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me, this is literally like kissing my brother’,” she said.
