Disney chief Bob Iger confirmed that Night At The Museum and Diary Of A Wimpy Kid will also be rebooted once Disney+ - the company’s upcoming streaming service - launches.

However, it’s not clear if the movies will be feature films or TV series in their Disney+ incarnations.

Either way, Home Alone fans are having absolutely none of it...

The original Home Alone starred Macaulay Culkin as eight-year-old Kevin McCallister, who was forced to protect his house from two burglars after accidentally being left behind when his family headed on holiday for Christmas.

Macaulay reprised his role in 1992 for sequel Home Alone 2: Lost In New York, but while the franchise went on to spawn another film in 1997, Macaulay did not star. in it

Two TV movies were also made in 2002 and 2012.
