Home Office Stabbing: Dominic Hornberger Charged With GBH

The incident saw the Home Office placed on lockdown on Thursday.

A 29-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife in a public place after a civil servant was stabbed outside the Home Office last week.

Dominic Hornberger, from Birmingham, was charged on Friday and appeared in custody at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, but details were only released by police on Monday.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Southwark Crown Court on September 13, police said.

The victim, aged in his 60s, went to the Home Office for help after suffering knife wounds in the street attack. He works for the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, which is nearby.

Witnesses reported that the knifeman had been approaching people in the street asking if they worked at the Home Office before the attack.
