Man Arrested After Climbing Buckingham Palace Gate, Held In Custody For Trespassing

A man has been arrested after climbing over a gate at Buckingham Palace in central London.

Police said they were alerted to the man’s attempt to enter the palace through the south gate shortly before 1.45pm on Friday.

“As he dropped to the ground,” police said, the 21-year-old was met by officers, who arrested him for trespassing.

Police added the man was not found in possession of any offensive weapons and had been taken into custody where he will undergo a mental health assessment.
