Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Murder After Woman Found Dead In Surrey

It is believed to be an isolated incident.

A 46-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead at a house in the Home Counties.

The body of a 38-year-old woman was found in the upmarket St George's Hill area of Weybridge on Saturday morning, Surrey Police said.

A man was found with "serious injuries" at the same address in Crossfield Place, close to Weybridge Station, and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police said that they believe they know the identity of the woman, although she has not been formally identified. Her family has been informed.

Detective Chief Inspector Jason Taylor said: "At this time I believe this to be an isolated incident, with no wider threat to the local community.

“This is a tragic incident and we will do all we can to support the woman’s family.”

Police went to the house after being alerted by an ambulance crew shortly after 10am.

The house is situated on a private residential street, which was taped off this afternoon with police cars outside.

Three other cars were also visible on the driveway beyond the police tape.

St George's Hill is a 964-acre private gated estate in that contains golf and tennis clubs, as well as approximately 420 houses.

A spokesman for the residents' association said that the incident did not happen there, the Press Association reports.
