Murder Arrest After Man's Body Is Found In Wheelie Bin Behind Waitrose

The victim has not yet been identified.

A murder investigation has been launched after a man’s body was found inside a wheelie bin in north London.

Police were called to Tollington Road, Islington, at 4pm on Saturday.

A post-mortem examination has been carried out but has proved inconclusive and further tests are pending.

A man’s body has been discovered inside a wheelie bin near the back of a Waitrose supermarket in north London.

Scotland Yard say police were called to Tollington Road, #N7 just before 4.00pm.

A large crime scene remains in place.

Detectives are still working to establish the identity of the man.

A spokesman for the Met Police said: “Enquiries are being led by the Central North Command.

“A 52-year-old man was arrested on Sunday, 12 May on suspicion of murder.

“He is currently in custody at a north London police station.”
