Sheridan Smith's 'Amorous' Dogs Prove To Be Quite The Distraction During This Morning Interview

Holly and Phil's faces pretty much said it all.

Throughout the pandemic, celebrities have been doing most of their promotional interviews from home, and we can think of a fair few occasions when an enthusiastic pet has ended up causing a stir.

However, we don’t think any have managed to steal the show quite like Sheridan Smith’s dogs.

During Wednesday’s edition of This Morning, Sheridan was interviewed by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby about her new BBC reality show Pooch Perfect.

In honour of her new series, Sheridan decided to include her own dogs in the interview, probably not counting on what would follow.

“You can see my dogs, this is mayhem,” Sheridan said, gesturing towards her dogs in the background. “It just sounds like some really heavy breathing or something.”

And with that, Phillip and Holly’s faces truly said it all as there was some definite… mounting going on between the West End star’s canine companions.

“Oooh ’ello,” Phillip commented, with Holly adding: “They were getting very friendly then.”

The moment in question did not go unnoticed by viewers at home, either:

This Morning’s senior editor Natalie Edwards also posted a clip of the moment on Twitter, writing: “When things go, ahem, doggy style on @thismorning!”

That was hysterical!!!!” Sheridan wrote back. “Thanks for having me and my (ahem) well behaved dogs on.”

It’s been quite a couple of days for inappropriate moments on daytime telly, between Sheridan’s overzealous pooches, Lorraine Kelly’s unfortunate “fluffers” faux pas and weather presenter Laura Tobin’s inappropriate slip of the tongue during Wednesday’s Good Morning Britain.

And long may they continue – who doesn’t need a laugh right now, eh?

This Morning airs every weekday from 10am on ITV.
