Top Toys 2019: Argos Reveals Its Predictions, 200 Days Before Christmas

From Owleez to Blume Dolls – here's the lowdown.

Yep, the time has come again for the top toys of 2019 – those games and gizmos set to plague your kids’ wishlists for the rest of the year. Argos has revealed the new play sets, cuddly animals and puzzles predicted to go big before Christmas – seeing as the big day is now only 201 days away.

Yeah, sorry to be the ones to break it to you.

And because, according to the retailer, the toys on this year’s list take inspiration from some of the biggest TV, movie and even gaming franchises, your kids are probably going to go bonkers for them.

Fortnite fans can snap up the Fortnite Battle Bus to recreate their own Battle Royale using the character figurines included, while Muggles may prefer the Harry Potter Night Bus, as featured in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban – only now ready to build in Lego.

There are other faces you’ll recognise on the list, too – from the Paw Patrol Mighty Pups Super Paw Jet to the Peppa Pig Playset, an interactive theatre featuring the famous pig – for kids to create their own Peppa stories.

Meanwhile, llamas are set to usurp unicorns as the top animal trend in toys with Boppi ‘The Booty Shakin’ Llama’ sure to charm kids and adults alike.

Juliet Ward, head of toy buying at Argos, said: “It’s no secret that children love animals and so they continue to heavily influence toy innovations, such as the Cubby Bear and Owleez.

“There are also some really quirky innovations on the list this year, such as the collectable Blume Dolls, which magically sprout out of their flower pots when sprinkled with water.”

The top toys of 2019 will be available to buy at Argos from Saturday 27 July. In the meantime, get clued up on what your kids will be asking for this year.
