For those of you that haven't been following The Notworking Blog in the Saturday Guardian, I've been blogging since September 2011 on my journey into the worlds of social media and networking as I reinvent myself as an executive coach after many years in HR. If I were to tell you that it's been a bumpy ride, that will serve as something of an understatement. We all get knocks and setbacks and, as I tell my coaching clients, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Or at least I would tell my clients if I had any.
So I had to dig deep and draw on my self-coaching skills when I heard that the Guardian work section was to close. Happily, the Huffington Post has given The Notworking Blog a new home and I plan to continue the fortnightly updates on my embryonic coaching business, my adventures in networking and social media, and my occasional sporting efforts at the Marshallswick Lawn Tennis Club. For those of you that want to read up on the Notworking archives, you can find them here.
As those of you follow my blog know, I have been attempting with mixed success to grow my business through social media. Some of my Twitter followers (I'm @gwadhurst - follow me: I'll follow you straight back!) have tweeted, concerned about the closure of Guardian Work. ("Gutted!" said @grannylouisa. "What happened?" pleaded Frowning Judge). Well, here I am.
Look out for the next instalment of the Notworking Blog this Friday 6 July.
