Five Things Liverpool Are Doing Better Than Everyone Else This Season

It is no secret that Liverpool have had a fantastic season, but what have they been doing better than other teams in the Premier League to get so far?

On the pitch and off it, here are five of the most important things that Liverpool have been doing right this season.

5. Attractive and Effective

One of the most difficult things to master in the Premier League is creating a side that play attractive football, but also get the results.

Chelsea are right up there in the title race, but their 'park the bus' style of football is often criticised. Arsenal play beautiful football at times, but they have fallen down the table quicker than you can say 'Wenger out.'

Brendan Rodgers, however, has got his side playing quick and attacking football, outscoring his opponents week in, week out. This season, Liverpool have not only been the best side to watch aesthetically, but the best side period.

4. Will We Ever Stop Winning?

Although Chelsea's home record has been incredible, Liverpool have enjoyed a monumental winning streak, lasting 11 games.

Being able to remain unbeaten for that long is one thing, but winning that many games on the trot really does encapsulate the passion and desire felt by the players, sending out a message to the teams around them.

Although not always solid at the back, the Reds have been fantastic in front of goal and for 11 games in a row they managed to score more than their opponents, lifting them to the top of the Premier League table and within touching distance of the title.

3. Young and Old

It doesn't take a genius to understand that a mix of experience and youth is key in order to succeed in the world's best league, but Liverpool have a perfect combination.

With the likes of Martin Skrtel, Daniel Agger and Steven Gerrard leading by example, players such as John Flanagan, Raheem Sterling and Jordan Henderson have been able to thrive.

Manchester United, for example, have a very mixed side in terms of age, but the old are too old and the young are not quite ready. Liverpool, however, have managed to integrate the promising youngsters into the side without piling too much pressure on them.

2. England's Finest

With the World Cup fast approaching, finding England's best side is becoming a heavily debated topic. Liverpool have made life a lot easier for Roy Hodgson, however, as their star men will almost certainly be on the plane this June.

Daniel Sturridge has had the season of his life and Steven Gerrard has proved his doubters wrong, propping up a side peppered with English talent. Only Southampton can compare when it comes to our nation's talent and the key men wearing a Three Lions shirt will come from these two sides.

Considering the obsession with bringing top foreign players to the Premier League, it is refreshing to see Englishmen representing their league in the top sides.

1. S.A.S

In modern football, an effective strike partnership is hard to find and the development of the attacking midfielder has led to a 'one striker' system in a lot of Premier League sides.

This season, however, Liverpool have shown that a partnership can be just as effective, if not more so. Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge have been sensational, not just individually, but in the way that they play together.

They are always aware of each other's presence and feed off one another's movement, posing a threat to even the most stubborn of defences.

Although attacking midfielders can be effective, you only have to look at the likes of David Silva and Eden Hazard to realise the possibilities, a deadly strike partnership will guarantee you goals and this is exactly how Liverpool have propelled themselves to the top of the table this season with only two games to go.
