My cat is a dog and I am a man.
Let me elaborate.
My cat, Bo bo is like no cat I've ever known. Cats sleep, eat, play, purr and gives you attentions when it wants something. Right? My cat brings me sticks to throw for her to fetch and bring back. My cat sits on the tube/ train/bus seat, minding her own business. My cat wags her tail and sits in the "play - bow "position. My cat drools. My cat is so nosey and fusses at what you are up to. Need I go on? There is more I promise! My cat is a dog.
Me.. I am a man. I cannot multi task. It's as simple as that.
After finishing my second comedy show in January I knew I had to file that hour of material away and write a whole new hour. But I haven't even started it yet. Ok, I have some ideas floating in my brain, but my pen has not touched the paper yet. This is down to the Theatre/comedy tour business I am preparing for.
Until I officially open this business to the public, as much as I want to, I can't focus on writing any new material. Yes, I have gigs to go to. But spending evening in at my "Carrey Bradshaw desk" ( the dining room table ) researching, writing and learning all the things I need to learn for March 28th is stressing out my man brain.
Tonight is a Thursday night, my worst day of the week. ( its that one extra day before the weekend ) I will leave my temp job at 5pm, get the tube home and go to my "study" ( the living room ) and get back to work on this project. While I will be trying to work, my cat dog thing will put her stick in my lap ( that sounds rude ), I'll throw it for her, she will bring it back, and this will go on until I put her favourite chew stick in her mouth to chew on so she can leave me alone so I can get back to work. What a thrilling Thursday night.
I guess there are other attributes I hold that make me a man. My diet consists of meat and chips, my film collection consist of 99% action movies ( 1% Romeo and Juliet and The Great Gatsby - every bloke loves a love story ) I even tried weeing standing up . It works if you lean back far enough!
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I like to put my all into one thing at a time. Focus on getting this one important thing right. Please do check out the new business website - http://walkingwestendtheatre.co.uk/ and I hope to see you on one of my tours next month.
As for my cat dog, well, everyone loves a quirky pet! Just wait till you hear about me taking her for walks, the cat dog lead is already ordered!
