Caught In A Brand Romance: Gaga's Workshop at Barney's NYC

Here's a quick holiday photo postcard from two New York powerhouses - Lady Gaga and Barney's.

Gaga's Workshop is Mother Monster's charity pop up within Barney's men's store on Madison Avenue for the festive season.

On a street made famous by its Mad Men advertising past, this successful coupling of two iconic brands is an innovative, not to mention thoroughly enjoyable, form of chugging with 25% of all sales going to Gaga's Born This Way Foundation.

The whole initiative has Gaga's self-confessed control freakery and her creative director, Nicola Formichetti's visual stamp all over it, from the beautiful windows to the displays and exhibits within the store space, all set to a pumping pop soundtrack from the NYC diva, the details are impeccable.

And then there's the merch. OH the merchandise - with something for everyone and prices to match, this is a totally inclusive retail experience.

The swag offerings range from Little Monster plush toys, press on nails, Gaga shoe earrings and cookies to specially commissioned items from high end designers and brands including Erickson Beamon jewellery, Nars Born This Way lipgloss, Noritaka Tatehana heel-less ankle boots, Swarovski crystal teacups, custom Kerin sunglasses, A Fine Line vests and my fabulous black and red mix 'Monster Red' lipstick by Lipstick Queen.

Here's a taster, but for more information go to where you can buy online (they ship to the UK too) or visit the store at 660 Madison Avenue, New York 10065. I'll be there going back for the lace sunnies...

NB. Thanks to music & brand consultancy Brand Romance for the post title :)
