A transport planning specialist, and now director of sub-national Transport Body Midlands Connect, Maria and her team, research, develop and recommend strategic road, rail and technology investments that will grow the region’s economy. Having provided evidence to the Government's Transport Select Committee on rail funding and a frequent regional presence in Westminster, Maria unites the voices of the Midlands' Local Enterprise Partnerships, Councils and business community to improve connectivity across the Midlands Engine area. As part of her previous role, Maria managed the WM Integrated Transport Authority’s input into the HS2 Hybrid Bill and was actively involved in master-planning activities around proposed HS2 Stations in the West Midlands.
