Wildlife filmmaker, cameraman, presenter and photographer for BBC Springwatch, Countryfile, The One Show and Coast. I love my job.

I’m a wildlife film maker, cameraman and photographer capturing images of some of the best of British wildlife.

I first came to recognition with my "Cinematic Landscape" films which I authored and shot for BBC Springwatch. These pieces were far more artistic and individual than the show's usual content and I was commissioned to make them over several series.

My presence on the BBC has steadily grown since then. In 2014 I fronted my own half hour for BBC 1's Urban Jungle and was given the job on Countryfile to celebrate the BBC's Summer of Wildlife. In 2015 I was part of a three strong presenting team for BBC 1's hugely successful Big Blue UK, along with Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall and Lyndsay Chapman. I have several ideas in development for 2016 - and will also be appearing on The One Show and Countryfile later in the year.

For the last three years I've fronted my own hour-long live morning show for BBC Autumnwatch Extra where viewers get to watch me at work in real time, commentating unscripted about the wildlife I find. It's a challenging show as I never know what will happen, and have to have the natural history knowledge to discuss everything and anything that turns up. What's more I have to be able to talk about nothing - no other presenter has ever talked about live images of thick fog on the Dumfriesshire coast for an hour and got away with it!

I have been working in this field for almost 20 years now – and I love my job.
