In the working population, the word retirement generally conjures up wistful thoughts of long lie-ins, lazy days, unlimited opportunities to pursue hobbies and the chance to finally get around to doing all of the things that you've never quite had time for. Is that really the reality of retirement though, and what can my 30-something generation expect in later life?
There is no hierarchy when it comes to abuse around a woman's body image - whether you're a celebrity or the average woman on the street. But I find it utterly shocking that these Olympians are viewed as fair game for online abusers. Worse, that the abuse has affected a gold-medal athlete so badly, she may have altered how she looks to fit an image of what other people think she should look like.
Having been Miss England in 2009, and now being a mother I personally feel that the two roles cannot coincide. Until you actually carry out the role of Miss England, you cannot possibly appreciated how much time is spent on the road, travelling from one place, or even country to another - it's all well and good saying but it's your choice etc but it would not be fair on a child.
