The Beverly Hills Hotel has been more or less emptied out of celebs who will no longer be seen there and it is losing millions. I do not have the liquid funds to indulge in such rich surroundings so it is easier for me not to give my money to a man who wants to kill me, but I hope others won't either.
My exhibition Zandra Unseen at the Fashion and Textile Museum closed 31 August, 2013 to make way for the gorgeous Belville-Sassoon exhibit. Featuring the work of my dear friend David Sassoon (including dresses made for not only our beloved Princess Di but also Camilla Duchess of Cornwall, two beautiful women of impeccable taste).
While most 24hour news channels, Sky included, normally stay clear of the hollow vacuum of celebrity tittle tattle, the birth of the future King gave them an excuse to relieve themselves of serious journalism. Commercial breaks are now greeted with a nauseating montage of the day's events, compeered by the usually hard-nosed Kay Burley, prancing around like Fern Cotton.
Don't get me wrong - I'm not a republican - more like an agnostic. But I think there's a very clear difference between liking the monarchy and pinning our hopes on them to effect change where it matters - down in the grassroots, in between the school run, long working hours and gender equality. Kate seems like a nice girl and all, but there's no point hoping that she'll do anything for us or feminism.
