PRESS ASSOCIATION -- Laurence Fishburne is set to join Zack Snyder's Superman reboot, as newspaper editor Perry White.
The US actor, who announced his departure from crime TV series CSI after two seasons, is said to be playing the Daily Planet editor-in-chief in Man Of Steel, reported Entertainment Weekly.
Jackie Cooper played Perry in the previous Superman films starring Christopher Reeve as the caped crusader, while Frank Langella took on the role in Bryan Singer's Superman Returns in 2006.
Laurence's casting adds to the star-studded line-up of Man Of Steel, which is being produced by Christopher Nolan and directed by Sucker Punch's Zack Snyder.
Henry Cavill stars as the eponymous superhero with Amy Adams as love interest Lois Lane.
Kevin Costner and Diane Lane have been cast as his earth parents Jonathan and Martha, as Michael Shannon takes on the villainous role as General Zod.
The blockbuster is scheduled to start shooting in the autumn, with a release set for June 2013.
