The distraught family of a missing teenager have made an emotional plea for information as the search for his whereabouts enters its tenth day.
Haydn Mark Evans, 18, from Mold, North Wales, was reported missing on 17 December after leaving a Christmas party at Carden Park Hotel on the outskirts of Chester.
Since that day, Cheshire Police search teams, supported by Lowland Search and Rescue teams, underwater search units, dog patrols and air support have combed the area of the A41 around Broxton for clues as to his whereabouts but none have been found.
Mr Evans' family today released a statement through Cheshire Police which read: "Our Haydn has been missing now for ten days and words cannot describe the despair that we feel.
"Christmas has passed and Haydn's presents remain unopened and none of us can even consider celebrating this Christmastime whilst he is still missing.
"Every day that passes becomes more difficult and we have a huge void in our lives.
"I would urge anyone who knows anything that can help us find Haydn to come forward and contact Cheshire Police."
Chief Inspector Julie Westgate, who is overseeing the search operation, said: "We continue to conduct searches in the area of Carden Park and the A41 toward Broxton, as well as reviewing and acting upon information we have received from the public.
"We are confident that Haydn is not staying elsewhere in the country, or further afield of his own accord.
"I urge all local residents, particularly to the farming community who have outbuildings and barns, to please check their land and any buildings on their property where Haydn may have sought shelter, to assist in our search"
Last week the teenager's distraught mother, Lynsey Bell, said: "I am so worried about him. Our family is in bits, we are having nightmares, we are not sleeping and just want him back."
Mr Evans, a construction company worker, is described as about 5ft 9in tall and slim with short brown hair and blue eyes.
He was wearing a dark long-sleeved shirt and trousers but did not have a jacket or coat with him.
Police are uncertain whether he was carrying money and his mobile phone.
Officers said the weather has been extremely cold and are worried that Mr Evans, who does not know the area, may have become disorientated in the unfamiliar surroundings.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting Operation Swan.
