The husband of a pensioner who died after a street row has paid tribute to his "loving and caring" wife.
Valerie Ager, 65, from Braintree, Essex, died after the "verbal argument" between dog owners in the town on Wednesday, a spokesman for Essex Police said.
Police said the argument started at about 9.45am in Trafalgar Way and moved into Connaught Gardens where she collapsed and later died in a nearby house.
A post-mortem examination carried out on Thursday was inconclusive and further tests will be carried out, the spokesman said.
Her husband Robert today said: "My beloved wife Val was tragically taken from me on Wednesday 4 January 2012.
"She was a loving and caring wife to me for nearly 44 years. She was the light of my life and now I am in a dark world.
"She loved her dog, Amber, whom she adored and also loved being in her garden and planting out her hanging baskets. She had many friends, who all miss her so much, she did not have a bad word to say to anyone."
A 39-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on bail until mid-February.
