Sam Gyimah, Tory MP, Dodges Challenge To Live On Benefits For A Week (VIDEO)

Live On Benefits? Tory MP Doesn't Seem Keen

Tory MP Sam Gyimah has apparently ducked an invitation to live on benefits for a week, after being challenged to do so during a debate on BBC Radio FIve Live.

In a heated exchange with a local Salford resident, Gyimah seemed keen to avoid directly responding to the challenge. The Tory MP instead tried to offer another challenge - "[to accept that] the people to blame for why we're here is the previous Labour government, for racking up so much debt".

Gyimah's answer didn't go down too well with the crowd, with the MP met with heckles and cries of "Rubbish!".
