The Greek MP and spokesman for far-right party Golden Dawn Ilias Kasidiaris has gone missing following his shocking attack on two women live on television.
Mr Kasidiaris, who threw a glass of water at fellow MP Rena Dourou before hitting the Communist MP Liana Kanelli three times, was able to escape the studio and is now being tracked down by Greek police with a warrant for his arrest.
The 31-year-old former soldier could face up to 10 years in prison for his vicious attack on Ms Kanelli.
Mr Kasidiaris is already facing a potential jail sentence should he be found guilty in a separate case of aiding a robbery in 2007.
It is reported that Mr Kasidiaris lost his temper during the televised morning debate after being called up on his charge by Ms Dourou.
After he threw the glass of water over Ms Dourou, Ms Kanelli stood and threw a newspaper at Kasidiaris, who then turned on her, hitting her three times in the face.
His party maintain that he was provoked, saying that "if anybody wants us to condemn our colleague over this indeed unfortunate moment, they should first condemn Kanelli's attack and slandering."
Speaking after the attack, Ms Kanelli told The Independent: "I got the winning ticket to unveil the face of the monster."
