Bolt Beaten By Blake At Jamaican Trials

Yohan Blake stunned athletics on Friday night, beating the world's fastest man, Usain Bolt, at the Jamaican Olympic trials.

Blake, who won the World Championship title after Bolt false-started in Daegu last year, set a world leading time of 9.75 seconds, with Bolt trailing and Asafa Powell in third.

While the means all three will represent Jamaica at London 2012 next month, Bolt being beaten in such dramatic fashion comes as a big shock.

Bolt took an awful start, leaving him with little time to catch up to the lightning-fast Blake, whose time ranks fourth all-time behinds Bolt's world record 9.58, American Tyson Gay's 9.69 and his compatriot Powell's 9.72 time.

Speaking after the race, Bolt blamed his start, admitting he had trouble getting out of his starting blocks.

Blake, however, said he felt "no pressure at all" after his huge win.

"Everything is good. I'm just fortunate," Blake said. "I'm the national champion of Jamaica now, I go into the Olympics like this."

Elsewhere, defending 100m women's champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce set a new Jamaican record to win, pipping Veronica Campbell-Brown into second and Kerron Stewart into third.
