Detectives have launched a murder inquiry after the death of a man who is believed to have been knocked down by a car.
West Midlands Police said a 50-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of murder after the victim, aged 58, was pronounced dead at Jubilee Park in Tipton, near Dudley.
Officers were called to the park in Powis Avenue shortly before 8am following reports that a man had suffered serious injuries in a collision with a car.
A police spokesman said: "The victim, understood to be a 58-year-old man from Wednesbury, was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Around 15 minutes later police attended an address in Tipton and arrested a 50-year-old man. He is currently in police custody and is being questioned in connection with the incident."
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who was in or near Jubilee Park between 7.30am and 8am to contact Force CID at Birmingham's Harborne police station on 101.
