Lumigrids Bicycle Light Promises To Help You Navigate Potholes In The Dark

This brilliantly simple cycling lamp promises to do away with the dangers lurking potholes on dark roads.

Rather than the traditional beam of light the 'Lumigrids' projects an LED grid onto the ground in front of the rider.

Any uneven surfaces such as kerbs or potholes are highlighted by changes in the grid pattern.

Cycling at night can be a perilous undertaking

The 'Lumigrids' is only in the concept phase at present but it has already won its inventors at the Sichuan University in China a Red Dot Design Award for 2012.
