Sony Claims Its Wearable 'Core' Can Track Your Emotions

Sony has unveiled a new wearable gadget which it claims is able to track your emotions.

The 'Core' digital sensor is in some ways a fairly traditional fitness tracker, with the ability to monitor how far you walk, run and move during the day, and give you insights into that data to try and live a healthier life.

But the new device, announced at CES 2014 in Las Vegas, also claims the ability to track how you're feeling too.

Sony said new partnerships it would launch alongside the device would give it a unique insight into your mood - and let you learn about how it affects other areas of your life.

What remains unclear is how far the mood tracker relies on manual entry from a user (and Sony’s LifeLog app) and the device itself.

The device is part of Sony's mission to track the music you listen to, the social network updates you post and the photos you take and combine them into one, cohesive life stream.

Sony is remaining tight lipped on the details until the device is released later this year - possibly at MWC in Barcelona.
