An earthquake has claimed a giant Hobbit sculpture in New Zealand.
The eagle sculpture, promoting the latest Hobbit film, fell to the floor from its overhead perch at Wellington Airport.
The 6.3 magnitude quake also caused other minor damage in New Zealand's North Island.

The sculpture fell to ground
Many businesses were closed because it was a public holiday.
Goods fell from shelves and pictures were knocked askew, the BBC reported.
Passengers skirt around the stricken eagle
Wellington Region Emergency Management group controller Bruce Pepperell told the New Zealand Herald: "There's no serious injuries or deaths over there, but they got a very severe jolt."
