Undated file photo of a general view of police tape. Planned cuts by police forces fall £500 million short of the savings needed, Whitehall's spending watchdog warned today.

A teenage boy has been found dead close to a secondary school in Swansea, police have confirmed.

Officers were called to an area off Gower Road in Sketty near Olchfa Comprehensive School at 9.30am this morning.

Detectives are treating the death as "unexplained", but say there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances at this stage.

A South Wales Police spokeswoman said: "HM Coroner has been informed and trained family liaison officers are supporting the family at this sad time."

It is believed the youngster, who has not yet been formally identified, was an Olchfa pupil.
