A mini street festival in Croydon organised by Ukip erupted on Tuesday afternoon with protesters besieging the event with signs calling the party and it’s high-profile leader racist.
Two members of the steel band that had been booked to play refused to participate due to the Eurosceptic party’s unsavoury reputation, while arguments broke out, many surrounding prominent black activists Winston McKenzie, a Ukip member, whose attempt to address the crowd was cut short.
Needless to say, Farage, who was scheduled to attend, cancelled his appearance over security fears.
