‘Britain’s Got Talent’ has finally closed its doors for another year, as the audition rounds draw to a close and we get ready for the live semi-finals next week. Every series we think we’ve seen everything, but truly this time around ‘BGT’ has outdone itself and shown that - despite an army of oddballs still taking to the stage as usual - Britain really has got talent at the heart of it all.
On Sunday night’s show we saw judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon managing to whittle all of the successful auditionees down to just 45 who will be performing live for the nation in the live semi-finals, which kick off on Monday 26 May.
Fans of the show will be pleased to see that a number of viewer favourites have made it through to the semi-finals, including mystifying magician Darcy Oake, musicial theatre-loving boyband Collabro and the imaginative dancer Kieran Lai have all made the cut and will once again be hitting the stage to perform their acts… but this time they’ll be doing it live in a bid to gain a place in the final.
Of course, four of the acts we already knew were through to the semi-final were salsa-dancers-with-a-difference Paddy and Nico, Mr. ‘Sex Bomb’ himself Christian Spridon, girl-group Reaformed and rapping teenagers Bars and Melody, who all pushed one of the judges to hit their golden buzzer and put them straight through to the semi-finals - though admittedly not everyone was happy with their choices.
