Man Swaps Diamond For Bag Of Weed, World Asks 'Why?'

Man Steals £99,000 Diamond, Swaps It For Something Ridiculous

Now criminals aren't normally known for particularly high levels of intellect but this fella might just have set a new low.

Walter Earl Morrison, 20, allegedly stole a package containing a £99,000 diamond - and then inexplicably swapped it for one gramme of weed worth about £12.

We'll just let that sink in a while.

The alleged culprit

Morrison worked for United Parcel Service (UPS) and nabbed the package while unloading a cargo plane at Phoenix’s Sky Harbor International Airport.

The parcel was being sent by Brink’s, a high security transportation service so Morrison assumed it would contain cash.

One can only imagine his disappointment when all it contained was a shiny stone.

Presumably assuming it was no more than a trinket he swapped it for a bag of weed.

The police statement claims "Walter admitted making a mistake", which is an understatement on more than one level.

Unsurprisingly, Morrison has been fired by UPS. The diamond was recovered. The weed is presumed smoked.
