It was announced on Friday that after three weeks off to be at her daughter, Matilda’s side, she is now well enough that Claudia can return to co-presenting ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ with Tess Daly on Saturday night.

Claudia took to her Twitter on Friday afternoon, to thank the medical professionals who have been helping her eight-year-old daughter through her ordeal, claiming she and her husband have been “bowled over” by their support.

She went on to remind ‘Strictly’ viewers that, after three weeks off, she may be a little “out of practice”.

“She was in rehearsals on Friday and although she obviously wanted to rush back to be with Matilda as soon as she could, it went OK, all things considered.”

Claudia - who had previously fronted ‘Strictly’ spin-off show, ‘It Takes Two - first landed the job of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ co-host earlier this year, when Sir Bruce Forsyth stepped down as presenter after ten years at the helm of the show.

She and Tess are the first female presenting duo to ever co-host a prime-time Saturday night series ever on British TV.

In Claudia’s absence, Tess has been sharing presenting duties with current ‘It Takes Two’ host, Zoe Ball.
