Selfies In The Polling Booth And Other Things You Can't Do When Voting In The General Election 2015

Taking A Selfie And 9 Other Things You Can't Do In A Polling Booth

So by now you should all know the rule: NO SELFIES IN THE POLLING BOOTH.

There are complex laws in place surrounding the secrecy of the ballot for the General Election and so photography in polling stations is strongly discouraged.

The Electoral Commission says: "Due to the potential breach of the law, intentionally or not, we strongly advise against any form of photography taken inside a polling station.

Selfies outside are fine - selfies inside are NOT

"However, if a voter would like to highlight their participation in the elections, we suggest this is done outside the polling station before or after they vote."

Anyone breaching this could face a £5,000 fine or even six months in prison.

To give the great British public credit, it doesn't seem like too many selfies have popped up so far on social media.

We take a look at some other things that you can't do in the polling booth...
