Russia Today reports that a 28-year old man from Siberia is demanding 500,000 roubles (about £4,724.66) after his wife left him and he lost his job because of his addiction to the best-selling video game.
Having seen an advert for Fallout 4 on TV, the man immediately downloaded the game onto his computer. Three weeks of almost solid playing saw him skip work and become a social recluse.
When his addiction started to affect his health his wife left him while continual 'sick days' from work led to the man being fired from his job.
As a result the 28-year old is suing Fallout 4's publisher Bethesda Softworks. In a statement he said:
“If I knew that this game could have become so addictive, I would have become a lot more wary of it. I would not have bought it, or I would have left it until I was on holiday or until the New Year holidays,”
This is reportedly something of a landmark case in Russia as nothing of this kind has ever been brought forward.
