Was your first date with your partner awkward, cringeworthy, full of regrets? You're not alone.

Research commissioned by Universal Pictures for the DVD release of About Time found that 18 million Brits would love to re-attempt their first date with their current boyfriend or girlfriend if they could.

Phew! It's nice to see we're not the only ones who have experienced disastrous dating moments.

The study revealed that the biggest first date regret was "not making the first move." The second most popular qualm? "Getting too drunk."

These were closely followed by "not getting in touch first post-date, "disclosing personal issues" and "arriving late."

Yep, these are all valid reasons for wanting to start over and re-live the date again. But aren't these the things that make first dates so memorable?

As much as we've cringed at our experiences of vomiting, stingyness and rejection, it's all part of the fun of meeting a potential new love interest for a first time. It would be boring otherwise, wouldn't it?
