Beauty Look Of The Week: Amber Heard Vs Ashley Greene

This week's best beauty looks come from blonde bombshell Ashley Greene.

Amber looked drop-dead-gorgeous on a night at the Opera in New York this week. She embraced Hollywood glamour in a backless gown paired with cherry red lips and long, fluttery lashes, but her vintage look was given a modern touch with a loosely curled quiff at the front of her updo.

Over in the opposite corner, Ashley worked a smoky eye during a promotional visit to Macy's. The tired-eye look was a big trend on the A/W 2012 catwalks, and the star softened her take on the look with a pale pink shade on the lips and a highlighter on the cheeks.

So who gets your vote for beauty look of the week? Let us know in the poll and see what the experts have to say in their comments below.

British Beauty Blogger: Amber is wearing a touch of gold on her eyes which really lights them up and also gives a good balance for the wow red she is wearing on her lips. I particularly like how she has her eyebrows distinctly darker than her hair because they give her face such a good frame. It's an amazing look and her skin is flawless. Ashley, on the other hand, lacks the vibrancy that Amber has; her eyes look quite tired and I think it may be because she has opted for some under-eye make up that make her look a little washed out. It's a much 'flatter' look than Ambers and for me, doesn't compliment her as well as it could.

The Beauty Scoop: Two contrasting looks here from Amber Heard and Ashley Greene, and in my opinion both looks are working well for their respective wearer.

Amber has gone for the classic red lip and black eyeliner look, and by keeping the eyeliner quite subtle she has placed all the emphasis on her bright, orange-toned red lips, which, in my opinion has modernised this classic look. This look works so well for her, especially teamed with her glamorous, quiffed updo!

Ashley is keeping it neutral colour wise, but has kept a bit of interest and drama in the look by adding a brown-toned smoky eye into the equation. Her 'my lips but better' lipstick and sculpted cheekbones complement the whole look perfectly, showing that a neutral colour palette doesn't have to be boring.

I like both of these looks, for different reasons but I think that due to the warm weather we've been having, I'm leaning towards the brighter, more summery look that Amber is rocking.

MyDaily verdict: As much as we love Ashley's low-key look, Amber's statement style is hard to beat. Another fine example of her knock-out red carpet style.
