DESIGNER:Alexander Wang
INSPIRATION: Techno raver meets construction worker
TOP LOOKS: White slip dress with bomber jacket; paint splatter printed sack dresses, cropped pants; jeans and jackets adorned with silver and gold foil made to look like duct tape; bandage jumpsuit with lapel detail
ACCESSORIES: Wang's own thick-heeled laced-up version of combat boots (some with open toe); bronze and rose gold rings by Michael Anastassiades; white clutches with copper detail; bike chain necklaces
WHO WAS THERE: M.I.A., Lenny Kravitz, Erin Wasson, Terry Richardson, Maggie Gyllenhaal
WHAT WE THOUGHT: While Alexander Wang's autumn collection was rather dark and ominous (think really chic Wall Street zombies wearing slashed suits), this season the designer lightened up. Instead of black he turned to mostly shades of white with a few subtle pops of apricot and mint green. The clothes were fit to be predominately loose and slouchy, and definitely conveyed a construction worker feel with a raver twist (especially the iridescent anoraks). This relaxed utilitarian attire would have come in handy at Wang's raucous carnival-themed after-party.
