You know how in some video driving games you view the race from above, looking down at your car, instead of in the driver's seat? That. But real.

For if you've ever wanted to have a robot quadrocopter buzzing above your head while you drive, feeding you information about traffic and hazards, Renault might have good news for you.

The new Renault Kwid (sadly only a concept for now) is built around just that slightly crazy, but very cool idea.

The Kwid has a quadrocopter built into the roof, which can open up and launch itself at appropriate moments, either flying under manual control from a tablet or automatically following the car.

It's just an idea - and it's designed specifically for its Indian market. But it's possible that similar ideas will make it into production vehicles one day.
