London Fashion Week 2016: Mimi Wade Is The Designer You Need To Watch

Mimi Wade Is The #LFW Designer You Need To Watch
|

Today was a huge day for Mimi Wade. The 24-year-old Central Saint Martins graduate made her London Fashion Week debut and was consequently tipped by countless insiders as an emerging star you need to watch.

The designer draws her inspiration from Old Hollywood aesthetics, mixed with a B-movie edge inspired by her grandmother - the star of cult 1950s movie 'The Blob'. Intrigued? You should be.

Pamela Anderson and Lana Del Rey have already been photographed for editorals in her designs and, according to Vogue, Lady Gaga is reportedly "clamouring for the entire collection."

Wade was selected by Fashion East to showcase her autumn/winter 2016 range this LFW, and her presentation - titled 'Girl On A Motorcyle' and held at Tate Britain - blew us all away.

Her signature lace-trimmed slip dresses and hand painted comic book prints were given a tough biker-girl edge with leather, dishevelled beauty looks and bullet-hole prints.
