Actress Jamie Brewer, best known for her role in hit show American Horror Story, has become the first model with Down's syndrome to appear on the catwalk during New York Fashion Week.
Jamie confidently strutted her stuff for designer Carrie Hammer's 'Role Models Not Runway Models' show.
Hammer described Brewer as "an absolute star", and told USA Today, "We feature incredible influential women on the runway. CEOs, executives, activist, actresses, anyone who is the top of the field, top of their game."
According to E! News, Brewer herself said she is an advocate for people with intellectual disabilities.
As for making history on the New York Fashion Week runway, 30-year-old Brewer said;
"Young girls and even young women...[see me] and say 'hey, if she can do it so can I, it's a true inspiration being a role model for any young women to [encourage them] in being who they are and showing who they are."
Brewer plays a witch in American Horror Story, and her chic black dress was designed with the show in mind.
Hammer said, "American Horror Story is dark, scary, bewitching so we had to go with black and Jamie has a beautiful body with a teeny waist and curves and we went with an A-line."
An excited Brewer, who described the dress as "amazing", took to Twitter to share photos of the experience.
