Bluetooth brings household objects to life
Vivek Vadoliya

PAN Studios have a background in changing the way people think about public space.

They wanted to take the same reflective approach towards the domestic environment by repurposing household objects as percussive instruments.

The team built a user interface for an application that works seamlessly with the Bluetooth capabilities of the Surface Pro 3.

The interface controls microcontrollers and in turn the solenoids that strike the household objects. Ever since their first project together PAN have had an informal tradition of giving their projects names with references or puns.

In the end ‘Alpha Beaters’ seemed most fitting.
